So you dont think that's the full prize pool? I think you are mistaken. What are you basing this on?

You are probably correct, however, about it being small bills wrapped with large ones. That's the only way to make it look good. If you had $7M in all $100 bills, it would not make a very impressive pile. You could probably fit the bulk of it into your average briefcase.

As per the original question, Binions use to offer you to leave (with security) with the cash, but I think most anyone opts to take a small part in cash and the majority by check. But that was another era. Now that Harrahs runs the show, who knows how they do it.

I'm basing it on multiple pictures I've seen on it from freeze frames on TV and multiple discussions about it online. Search twoplustwo and Paul Phillips site I believe.

You could be right, I am certainly no authority, but I do believe that when they lay the money on the table, it is the full amount that is at stake. That's the way Binions always did things - strictly cash put on the table, yours for the taking.

I did not even stick around to see it this year. Final table stuff makes for good tv, but is just too boring for live action. It's like watching golf. By 2am I was out of there to find some excitement.

Yes thats the amount for 1st place...now most casinos make you transfer it to your bank... or give you a safety deposit box to hold it until you can make arrangements...but certain casinos, well if you want you can walk out with it after winning( and filling out the necessary paperwork, ie tax forms!!)

Back in the wsop early years it was a viable option...and apparently was taken often... now it would be idiotic, with modern banking options
